Eleni Update

We visited Eleni’s eye doctor yesterday and he said that hemangioma behind her eye is doing a lot better.  His exact words were that she has “minimal proptosis.”  Since the medicine finally seems to be holding off the growth of the hemangioma, he’s keeping her on the same dose.  I’m a little concerned because she’s already gained one pound since he put her on that dose, and we don’t have to go back for 6 weeks, so she may have gained a lot more weight by then, but he’s the doctor so I’m sure he knows what he’s doing!  Over the past week though, I’ve finally felt like the hemangioma hasn’t been as noticeable, so I was glad to get that confirmation from the doctor.  Now we just need to keep working on the poor girl’s head shape!

Just for record purposes, she is up to 14.8 pounds now.  She sleeps all night, eats a lot, plays with her toys, loves sitting in the jumper seat and will smile and baby talk to just about anyone who plays the game with her.  She is such a perfect baby!

Dear Angela, I have noticed recently that my baby (6 months old) squints one eye a little more than the other when smiling, laughing, etc. Then, after being thoroughly freaked out, I went and looked at earlier pictures and noticed the same thing with the same eye ever since the day he was born. It’s very subtle, but is still concerning to me. Did miss E.J. Have any other signs or symptoms related to the hemangioma other than the slight protrusion of the eye itself? Thank you for your time!
