Friday Five

Hi my friends, and happy Friday!!! It has been so long since I shared any of my Friday favorites with you. I’ve had ideas and thoughts of things to share but then they never got typed because Fridays would come and go. This week I actually sat down and got it done.

I can’t say enough good things about the Invisibobble hair ties. They hold my hair so well, and I have thick, heavy hair, so that’s saying a lot! The coolest thing about them that I just learned this week actually is that when they stretch out, you just put them under the blow dryer or in boiling water and they shrink back up. Totally amazing! They come in all sorts of colors like regular hair ties too, and they don’t leave a crease.

I had to share two pictures because really, how cute is she?? E’s daycare does a little preschool in the morning, which is why the lady only like to take older (18+ month) kids. We’re so fortunate that E is starting her second year with Mrs. Julie because she learns so much and has so much fun! Next year we’ll start “real” 3 year old preschool, but this is such a great opportunity for her. I always dreamed of being the fun, crafty mom who taught her kids everything and always had projects to do with them, but life gets in the way of that sometimes so I’m glad E is able to go to preschool and do all of the fun things that she loves but doesn’t get to do with me.

I totally geeked out a few weeks back and bought a spiralizer for my Kitchenaid. It attaches to the front, turn on the mixer and it spiralizes your zucchini for zoodles. I will caution and say that you have to use very small zucchini, which was probably my problem in the past with my handheld spiralizer too, but oh well. I’m loving this one and I hear that it works awesome when you do stuff with apples too.

I’m a very loyal Lipsense user, but when a couple of my colors started running out and both of my Lipsense girls quit selling it, I thought I’d look for something different and cheaper. Enter the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink that I randomly picked up at Walmart. It is amazing. You might have seen me post updates on my IG story about how well it lasted through eating lunch, drinking sodas and getting steers ready at the stock show. Then I lost my tube of it somewhere in my truck to never be found again so I have it on my list for my next shopping trip. If you like cheap, long lasting lip stains, definitely try this one. I got the color “Lover” which I’ve shown and it was really pretty.

I just finished binge watching Grace and Frankie on Netflix. It was hilarious. I highly recommend it! Full disclosure: DG didn’t like it, but I did. It was a fast-paced, light comedy and the acting was amazing. I need to get on Jane Fonda’s life plan so I can look that good at 79 too!

That’s all for this week! What are you loving? Do you have any great weekend plans? We have a busy day planned then we’re going to head up to camp so we can check cows, fish and hang out!

I think I need to try those hair ties for when my hair is straight and I want to put it up for awhile but don’t want any creases! My mom was watching Grace and Frankie and I caught pieces of it – its so funny! Stopping over from the linkup and hope you can hop over to my blog too! Have a great weekend! https://www.confessionsofanorthernbelle.com/2017/08/friday-favorites-91/

  2. Hmm, I’ve been intrigued by lipsense, but I didn’t want to spend the money. I’ll have to try the cheaper Maybelline one!

  3. Those hair ties are awesome! Apparently they’ve been a thing overseas for awhile now (my friend brought me some back from france last year). Why are we always late to the party?!

Love love Grace & Frankie! My husband didn’t like it either but it was easier to binge without him anyway. Ha!

  5. Your daughter is darling!!! I think that Maybelline lip color is so pretty!!
